Removing road salt and dirt is especially important during the winter months. Our cleaning products are specifically manufactured to work with the materials of your bike, to ensure your bike is always ready to ride.

Always be well prepared.
Regularly rinse off the salt deposits after winter rides and intensify the care with the appropriate means. Dose the high pressure cleaner softly and do not point the spray directly at the intake duct and bearing. You can of course get care products from us. From cleaning to polish: the Original BMW Care Products offer perfect care for your bike.
If your motorcycle is not ridden for prolonged periods, the charge of the battery drops. In the past, people would have to laboriously remove the battery and take it with them into their warm flats in order to charge it up in time for the start of the season. Today, there are brilliant charge retention devices, which can usually be connected to the battery without it having to be removed such as the BMW Motorrad battery charger. Practical, provided you also have access to a plug socket.
Your BMW's synthetic oils are not only highly resilient in operation, but also withstand the test of time during immobilisation periods. Because they continue working flawlessly even after winter after a short warm-up. Particularly recommended are the ADVANTEC Original BMW Engine Oils and the Original BMW Expert Line that perfectly suit the engine of your BMW Motorrad. For metal tanks, we recommend filling up before immobilisation, because otherwise the tank may corrode on the inside due to condensed moisture. For plastic tanks, this is not an issue. For carburettor-operated motorcycles, you should disconnect the feed cable between the tank and the carburettor and allow the fuel to drain out of the carburettor in order to prevent hardening. For modern injection engines – as exhibited by the entire BMW Motorrad range – this measure is not required.
A small check is always worthwhile.
Oil lubricates the engine and keeps it running smoothly. But at the same time, oil also cools it down and keeps it at the ideal operating temperature. The ADVANTEC Original BMW Engine Oil is adjusted to fulfill the high requirements of BMW Motorrad high-performance engines. Thanks to its unique formula, the ADVANTEC Original BMW Engine Oil guarantees that your bike runs smoothly for a long time. So always make sure that the right quantity of oil is in the engine, gearbox and drive. Too much oil can have a negative impact too, as the oil pressure in the engine is designed for a specified quantity.
The right air pressure is one of the most important bases for flawless riding behaviour. With the BMW Motorrad mini foot pump you can check the pressure and adjust it perfectly to suit your load and your riding style. The correct values are specifically listed in the operating instructions.
Your clothing is of course dependent on the weather. But always consider safety here. BMW Motorrad Ride & Style offers a wide range of functional and stylish clothing as well as safety relevant accessories for any weather. To also protect and prepare your bike for any weather condition we offer Original BMW Care Products. What must also be considered is that even the best care does not stop the ageing process: protectors and helmet shells become brittle with time, tend to break and lose their protective function. Leather and functional clothing also require care: for lasting breathability.
